Leigh over at CoolSmarPhone.com decided to test the TomTom Smartphone version over the period of a few weeks and now he has done his review:

This is what comes in the TomTom box. I had the SD card, the GPS thingy and the power cable the plug the GPS box into the cigarette lighter (does anyone actually use the cigarette lighter for anything else?)

I gotta be honest. I had a reviewers pack with this a big wad of paper telling me about how it all pieces together. There's also a manual, CD and all that jazz. The secret to a good product is whether I can plug the thing in and get it working straight away. To be honest with you - yes, I can. The software comes on a 128Mb card - it's an SD card that I have. I stuck that in my E200. It loaded the software and placed a shortcut on my Start menu. This was quick and painless. Now, I know what you're all going to probably say here

Since I've used onboard navigation first time on my Windows Mobile Smartphone I'm sure it will become the same success as it became already for Pocket PCs and Leigh compiled a great overview how - in this case - TomTom works and what you can expect from such a solution.

Cheers ~ Arne
