During
CTIA, Ed Hardy from Brighthand had his first contact with yesterday's announced
Internet Explorer Mobile 6, which follows
also yesterday's announced
Windows Mobile 6.1 later this year and
he recorded a quite interesting video where the new browser (currently in Beta)
was demonstrated.
While Windows Mobile 6.1's Internet Explorer Mobile was slightly refreshed by
adding a zoom in/zoom out functionality to make use of larger, PC optimized web
pages easier, the big shot comes later this year with Internet Explorer Mobile
6, which will supports - out of the box - established and upcoming industry
standards such as H.264,
Adobe Flash and Microsoft
Silverlight, the updated
Internet Explorer Mobile gives people a rich mobile Internet experience:
It's not yet announced how Microsoft's new Internet Explorer Mobile 6 will be
distributed, if as part of ODMs only or as standalone downloadable updates.
