I received a number of photos of the coming GPRS/GSM add-on module for the Pocket LOOX today and like to share them with you.
Some technical information: The module comes with a built-in battery of 900 mAh and offers three hours talking time. I have two information about the stand-by time, but the lower one mentions more than 100 hours. So, it lasts at least as long as the LOOX' internal battery.
As you see, this is not the final module yet as it will be on sales in a few weeks time. So, my request to all of you being interested to learn every single detail about it - please understand that the amount of information is still quite limited and changes might occur without any notice.
It takes the standard mobile phone card on the inside the connector on the left side goes into to slot on the bottom of the LOOX after you removed the little cover that's sitting there right now. The two "fingers" on the right side fit into the notches on the LOOX' back.
The backside of the module doesn't show too much. The yellow ring is a connector for an external antenna.
And that's how it looks like when it sits with the attached module in the cradle.
Yes, the LOOX knows what precious module it is carrying on its back

Thanks for sharing this information and pictures with us, Frank! Keep up the good work to keep us updated what's up in the Loox world!
Cheers ~ Arne
