Ok fellow Treo 750 lovers, you are not the only one with threaded SMS messages anymore. Looks like MykeSoft was so impressed by this application that Myke developed Textr for Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones. It's a Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6 compatible application which turns SMS text messages into organized chat-like conversations, similar to the beloved default SMS client on the Treo (but with enhanced and added features and goodies). Since many users out there found Treo's 750 threaded SMS application so useful (which it is indeed), you might want to give it a try on your non Palm Treo Windows Mobile phone as well.

Feature Highlights

  • Conversation based text messaging organized by who sent you the text message
  • Store and archive text message conversions on a storage card
  • Export conversations as html
  • New message pop-up notification
  • Photos for your contacts which use the default contact photo on your device
  • Turns URLs into hyperlinks
  • Auto emoticons turns :) into graphics
  • Choose the color for you and your contact's name
  • Choose your display name
  • Timestamps in conversations
  • and much more

Textr works with Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Editions as well as with Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices. The full version costs US$ 14.95 but a fully functional 21 days trial version is available as well.

Cheers ~ Arne
