Together with the GSmart S1200, Giga-Byte is also first time publically demoing its new UI which is called "Smart Zone". Smart Zone sits on top of Windows Mobile and basically replaces the Windows Mobile Home screen as well as Start menu since Smart Zone is design to be the main user interface while it's just a click to jump back to Microsoft's original Windows Mobile GUI.
Quite interesting is the fact that Smart Zone is based on Adobe Flash, as far as I know the first UI for Windows Mobile which uses Adobe Flash. Smart Zone is gesture-based and doesn't require the use of a stylus. Instead, users swipe the thumb across the screens to jump to the different areas, always starting from the center screen. Furthermore, it's possible to swipe diagonally to quick-start predefined programs:

According to Giga-Byte, the Smart Zone UI will become the standard now for all upcoming GSmart Windows Mobile smartphones and it's compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1 as well as 6.5.

Cheers ~ Arne
