All right, with another Mobile World Congress in Barcelona just around the corner, it's the perfect time to let you know what the::unwired's plans are. As the years before, I will be on-site from Friday to Thursday (with some on-site and backend-support from Saturday to Tuesday) and generally speaking we plan to attend and cover smartphone-relevant press conferences, publishing the latest press releases, trying to get some hands-on time with the latest and greatest devices, operating systems and services and covering the event with articles, photos and videos. Like last year, also this year this year we will focus on Microsoft's Windows Phone 7, Google's Android as well as HP's webOS which includes press conferences as well as meetings with manufactures, ODMs and developers.
So what can you expect from this year's coverage?
- All Mobile World Congress 2011 related news and articles will be tagged with MWC11.
- Press conferences will be covered live and commented through the::unwired's Twitter channel, so please make sure you follow the::unwired on Twitter.
- This year, we are using several Eye-Fi cards, Huawei E5 mobile hotspots and a couple of digital cameras and therefore it's planned to constantly send photos to the::unwired's Live Photo Gallery, doesn't matter if it is from press conferences, the show/exhibition, device or service hands-on or anything else interesting. New photo uploads will also be announced through the::unwired's Twitter channel (see an example here). Furthermore videos will be uploaded straight from the venue and will be published to the::unwired's Live Video Gallery.
The photo and video galleries are now live and running some dummy content (which you might want to test out). You can either access the Mobile World Congress 2011 Specials via the main navigation or through the following links:
Until the Mobile World Congress kicks-off Monday morning (CET), with first press conferences starting Sunday evening, feel free to add the::unwired to your Twitter account and/or make sure you are subscribed to our RSS feed to get the latest update if new articles, photos or videos are online!
Read you from Barcelona, Cheers ~ Arne
