According to German mobile site mobile2day, tomorrow, Destinator Europe will publicly show their latest product "Destinator for Smartphone", first time at "Systems" convention in Munich.
Destinator is already well known for Pocket PC on-board navigation and one of the top 5 navigation systems for Windows Mobile, now they will also enter the Smartphone market.

Destinator for Smartphone is based on what you might know from the Pocket PC but also includes some new, Smartphone optimized features like:

  • 2D View.
  • 3D View.
  • Turn by Turn (which is new and optimized for the smaller Smartphone screen).
  • Voice commands in all views for easy navigation without watching the screen while you drive.

Another interesting feature is to share your location via SMS with other Destinator for Smartphone users where they can use your coordinates for routing and navigation as well. If the recipient isn't using Destinator for Smartphone, the SMS appears as clear text on the mobile phone.

Destinator for Smartphone can either used by a cable-based GPS receiver connection or through Bluetooth and is available soon for several Smartphones including the HTC Voyager, Typhoon, T-Mobile SDA, Motorola MPx220 and Mitac 8310.

To preview Destinator for Smartphone, visit mobile2day's booth (Hall B4, Stand 325) on Systems tomorrow - 21.10.2004.

Cheers ~ Arne
