Following O2 Germany's earlier launch of a free off-board navigation solution for its Android and Windows Mobile smartphones, last week, Telmap and O2 Germany launched Telmap Navigator for Palm webOS smartphones, allowing Telmap's award-winning location-based services solution to be accessed on O2 Germany's Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus. Telmap Navigator for Palm webOS allows users to be set-up and navigating within seconds. Telmap Navigator is now available exclusively to webOS users on the German O2 network and the solution includes German local content and services such as Lonely Planet and speed enforcement zone warnings.

Telmap's award-winning application features an all-in-one solution including in-car navigation, dedicated pedestrian navigation, local search and content, real-time turn-by-turn navigation with 3D moving maps, voice and text instructions announcing street names, real-time live traffic alerts with alternative route options as well as Points of Interests information such as gas stations and parking lots along the way. While Telmap Navigator is an off-board GPS navigation solution, the full route corridor is download at the beginning of the navigation session, enabling quick and seamless re-routing when necessary with no need to re-connect to the server.

While, at the moment, Telmap Navigator is available free of charge for O2 Germany's Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus customers only, Telmap Navigator is expected to be available for webOS users on other networks in the near future. Not yet supported is O2 Germany's Palm Pixi Plus.
