You remember the accidentally leaked shot of the O2 Xda which was most likely O2's version of the HTC Polaris? As it turns out, it was indeed the HTC Polaris which O2 will call O2 Xda Orbit 2. The Germany carrier today announced its latest Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone. Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7200 CPU at 400 MHz, the O2 Xda orbit 2 features inbuilt GPS capabilities as well as it supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps. Furthermore it sports Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and WiFi b/g as well as a 3 megapixel camera and a second front facing camera for video telephony and has an internal memory of 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM:

As expected, the Xda orbit 2 features HTC's TouchFLO technology which allows to comfortably use the mirrored touchscreen without a stylus but with thumbs instead. The Xda orbit 2 comes with an extra 1 GB microSD memory card which includes a preinstalled version of TomTom including maps of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and major roads of Europe.

The O2 Xda orbit 2 will be released beginning December and will be available, with a 24 months contract, for 99 Euro only.

Cheers ~ Arne
