In addition to the Galaxy mini, Samsung today also announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Gio. The Galaxy Gio is powered by a 800 MHz CPU and runs on Android 2.2. It supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 and features an FM radio and GPS. The tiny 3.2" TFT-touchscreen supports HVGA (480 x 320) and the autofocus camera supports 3.2 megapixel. At a size of 111 x 58 x 12,2 mm, the Galaxy Gio weights 102 g, including the 1350 mAh Li-Ion battery.
The Samsung Gio mini comes with all Google Android services including Google's Android Market but also has a couple of Samsung exclusive services and features pre-installed, including Samsung's own Apps-Store, Social Hub, Samsung's TouchWiz GUI and Swype as well as ThinkFree Office.
From February, the Samsung Galaxy mini will be available for around 329 Euro in Germany and other European countries.
