HTC
just send out a press information where the Taiwanese smartphone manufacture
confirmed that it's still on plan and and in time for its first Google
Android smartphone
launch.
HTC replied to
a report from Trip Chowdhry of
Global Equities Research who recently said
that HTC is "having structural problems to incorporate Google's demanded
feature set" and HTC is "demanding a guaranteed minimum revenue surety
from Google", from which Chowdhry concludes that "Probably HTC does not
think there will be enough demand for GPhone".
On behalf of HTC, Trademark PR (HTC's German PR agency) said:
1st: The reference in the article, that there is a delay in the delivery,
does not match the facts.
2nd: HTC still expects to launch the first Android-based unit in the 4th
Quarter (2008).
In the past weeks more and more rumors popped-up across the Internet that
Google, and therefore its partners, might be late with the Android developments
and therefore first Google Android-based handsets might be released later.
However, HTC always said that it's sure to release the first Android based
smartphone in 2008 anyway.
Cheers ~ Arne
