MiTAC has been quite busy lately developing better Pocket PCs. If you can recall the recently released MiTAC Mio 338 Plus which gives the user 32MB of Flash ROM to use freely. MiTAC's new product however is one that runs on the Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition platform. Dubbed the Mio 728 of the DigiWalker line, this Pocket PC Phone Edition sports a rather conservative 206MHz StrongARM processor. But the wonderful part of it all is that it comes with a CF type II slot and a full set of buttons that adds true Pocket PC handling capabilities to this device.
The Mio 728 will have 32MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM, a fairly standard feature as far as Pocket PCs go. But the inclusion of a swappable 1500mAh battery pack is definitely a welcome feature particularly for a Pocket PC Phone Edition. MiTAC claims a battery life that can give as much as 12 hrs of use or about 2-3 hours of talk time.
The cradle of the Mio 728 even has an extra slot for charging a spare battery. This is a sign that MiTAC is dedicated to offering Pocket PC users better, more practical solutions for mobile computing and communications.
The Mio 728 measures 76mm(w) x 137mm(h) x 22mm(d) and weighs about 180grams.
