Brussels - December 2, 2002 - Today Proximus, along with Microsoft Corp., launch the Proximus Qtek 1010 Pocket PC Phone edition. Proximus offers the Pocket PC with telephony features in his ProximusCollection, the Proximus selection of the best mobile phones on the market distributed through Proximus retail locations. Powered by Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone Edition software, the Proximus Qtek 1010 provides fully-integrated GSM/GPRS wireless voice and data communications capabilities in a single, compact, Pocket PC Phone Edition device.
The combination of Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone Edition software, which seamlessly integrates the power and versatility of Microsoft Pocket PC software with wireless capabilities, and Proximus' wireless network will enable customers to make phone calls or use high-speed wireless access to view virtually any Internet site or securely access corporate networks, e-mail, agenda and contacts at speeds that rival or exceed standard dial-up wired connections.
The Qtek 1010 unit is manufactured for Proximus by High Tech Company (HTC, Taiwan) and comes with a USB cradle with cable, integrated SD/MMCard slot and a standard protection case. The Proximus Qtek 1010 has been entirely customized for Proximus users with SMS, MMS, Mobile Internet, WAP GPRS, special background and ring tones.
