According to an article of DigiTimes, Taiwan-based AnexTEK Technology, a subsidiary of Wistron, has begun its own-brand PDA phone sales in some areas, including Germany, India, Italy, Russia, South Africa and much of Asia, according to the company.

The SP230 was AnexTEK’s first own-brand PDA phone. It was launched in March and features Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC OS phone edition with a 400MHz Intel PXA255 processor. AnexTEK expects to launch its second model in the second half of this year, as well as several Smartphones to be unveiled in the third quarter, according to the company.

The company has recently signed a contract with Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Taiwan’s largest telecom carrier, to promote the SP230 in Taiwan, according to AnexTEK. The model will be available through CHT’s channels in May, priced at NT$19,000 (about US$574).

AnexTEK aims to ship 20,000 own-brand PDA phones in Taiwan and 80,000 units worldwide this year.

And while we are talking about a Smartphone, AnexTEK already previews - as thumbnail only - a device on their site:

However, there are no further information about the so called "ST100" available by now.

Cheers ~ Arne
