During Möbius last week, I had the chance to play with an Intel reference design Windows Powered Smartphone.

Devices like these are developed by Microsoft and a technology partner and are handmade, so for sure quality, etc. isn't the point here but seeing which devices might be released next.

And here we go with the exclusive pictures:

Overall the Intel Smartphone is pretty impressive as it looks smaller then the HTC Canary but overall it's slightly smaller only - if you compare it. But, and this might be the most important fact, it includes a digital camera. Also the navigation is different then on the HTC Canary or Tanager as it includes a kind of "Navi Roller" which can be used up/down and by pressing left/right it moves to left and right. This fact becomes important for game developers later.

Like before with the Microsoft/Texas Instruments reference platform, we might see this device later - manufactured by another ODM. The previous MS/TI design is now available from Compal and is licensed as red e SC1100 so  for sure no price can be given today nor an estimated release date.

Cheers ~ Arne
