not new for American readers but quite interesting for Europeans is the
BlackJack II to what I got my hands on during last week's Möbius meeting.
I'm still a big fan of the
the worldwide version of the original BlackJack (which is - for me - one of the
best Windows Mobile Standard smartphones so far) and therefore I was really
looking forward to get my 5 minutes with a BlackJack II. While it's still not
confirmed if it will also be released outside the U.S., the
SGH-i617 shows how
an international version could possibly look.
The overall size hasn't changed much but the BlackJack II became thicker
since it features the enhanced battery by default now (what makes absolutely
sense since the slim BlackJack battery was definitely not good enough to power
the BlackJack/i600) and also you don't have a thumb-wheel on the side anymore
but a jog-wheel instead:
The 2 megapixel upgrade is an overdue enhancement from the original 1.3
megapixel camera. Unfortunately, and I'm sure it's AT&T's fault, like the
original BlackJack also the BlackJack II lacks WiFi which hopefully will finds
its way into an international version, if ever released.
Cheers ~ Arne
