The Toshiba Portégé G900 is Toshiba's latest Windows Mobile device and after the 2002 Toshiba Thera 2002, it's Toshiba's second Phone Edition device while it's not called Phone Edition anymore since it's sporting Windows Mobile 6 Professional. Therefore it's Toshiba's first Windows Mobile 6 device featuring a slide-out keyboard and supporting triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE (no GSM 850 MHz support) and singleband UMTS/HSDPA (2100 MHz only) as well as WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Pretty unique is the devices WVGA screen at 800 x 480 pixels. In addition it features two cameras - the main camera on the back which supports 2 megapixel and a front facing QVGA camera is used for UMTS video-telephony.

Like it's "Smartphone brother", the Portégé G500 Smartphone (see my unboxing video here and the photo view here), also the Portégé G900 provides a unique and enhanced level of security through a fingerprint reader. The fingerprint sensor can also be used to navigate the phone's menu and to unlock the device:

I will follow-up with the review of the device later. In the meantime feel free to ask your questions in the comments bellow as well as don't miss the unboxing video of the Toshiba Portégé G900 here.

Cheers ~ Arne
