Right after the North American launch of Windows Phone 7 on Monday, US-based Sling Media has yesterday evening released its popular SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 which allows to watch, or better stream, home TV and video recordings on/to any Windows Phone 7 smartphone. However, there's a drawback since the new SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 is only compatible to Sling Media's Slingbox Pro-HD or Slingbox Solo. It's not compatible to the Slingbox Pro, Slingbox AV, Slingbox Tuner or Slingbox Classic and since Sling Media isn't offering a trial version of it's new SlingPlayer Mobile, it's recommended to be sure that a supported Slingbox is used prior purchasing the software.

The new SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 user interface is totally different to the previous SlingPlayer Mobile version for Windows Mobile and for sure it's optimized for thumb-use. Basically it's the same UI as Sling Media introduced with its latest Android version.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 is now available from the Marketplace for US$ 29.99. A trial version isn't offered by Sling Media and the Windows Phone Marketplace doesn't offer refunds today so please be sure your fulfill the requirements before you hit the buy button!

Cheers ~ Arne
