Digitimes has some news on who's making Gateway's Pocket PC. Their sources say that Gateway Computers has placed its first Pocket PC ODM order with Taiwan’s Lite-On Technology. The Gateway 100X, due out next month, will be Gateway's first Pocket PC device. The deal also marks Lite-On’s first PDA order.

Following Dell's lead, Gateway will release a Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 2003. Dubbed the 100X, it compares closely to Dell's Axim which also sports dual expansion slots. It will run on a 400MHz Intel X-Scale processor with 32MB ROM and 64MB RAM. It will draw its power from a 1250mAh removable Li-Ion battery. It will come with a 16-bit Transflective screen, but will not be equipped with BT or Wi-Fi.

Gateway plans to sell the 100X for $299.
