Engadget Mobile reported on Friday, that the HTC Shift gets another delay in the U.S. but it's on track for Europe: "they [HTC] say the UMPC should be shipping in Europe and Asia in about a week". Now I got an E-Mail from Amazon Germany where the HTC Shift was shifted again.
Initially planned for a release in late November, Amazon shifted the shipping later to early December, followed by December 11 but now Amazon gives an estimated shipping date of 08.02.2008 (which is still estimated and still not confirmed):

That's too bad and I wonder which problems HTC faces? Is it the hardware quality for a new kind of devices HTC has less experience, is it the software integration (Windows Vista, stripped Windows Mobile), or both? Is HTC missing a windows of opportunity? What do you think?
Have you also preordered the HTC Shift and what do you plan to do now?

Cheers ~ Arne
