POSTPONED: Benq's P50 Pocket PC Phone Edition will not be seen before Q3-2005

infoSync World got another official confirmation from Benq, that their long awaited P50 Pocket PC Phone Edition with inbuilt thumb-keyboard is delayed. I've already reported the same when I met Benq on CeBIT two month ago.

Initially, the P50 was expected for a launch in late 2004 many people still await it since it is a sweet combination of a Windows Mobile Pocket PC and the Treo 650 ID.

A BenQ representative today confirmed to infoSync World that the P50 will not be launched in Europe until the third quarter of 2005, and then only in Italy, initially. Similarly, the P50 will not be made available in the U.S. market until late in the third quarter.

Wow, that's seriously bad news and I hope the Benq P50 will not walk the same way the Motorola MPx walked before. :-(

Cheers ~ Arne

Sounds to me like it's about to walk the same path as the mpx.

Too bad, this is more promising than the MPx.  Wasn't this planned to come in a version with WiMAX (in China and Taiwan) instead of WiFi. wink
