PPCW.N: Latest update of the server migration

Okay folks, the good news is that I was able to migrate the database to the new server - puh what a work if you don't have direct access to the database but MyPHPAdmin only  and doing this with a 56K modem. The modem is the bottleneck, it's more or less "not possible" for me to upload all the stuff around with the modem but help in form of my new DSL access should comes today.

However, I have some bad news from my point of view - but is it really bad? What do you think!? I played a little bit with the new database and recognized that the performance improvement isn't as good as I hoped, PPCW.N is still dramatically slow (but faster than on the old server). So my idea is to import the whole "old" PPCW.N to the new server, incl. all images, comments and so on but starting a new Weblog beside this for all new posts.

Currently I'm working with a new script which is faster as it is very reduced by the coding text itself. Importing all old posts isn't possible and wouldn't make sense. So what would you think if the old PPCW.N is available fully functional on a sub domain only but not integrated into the new Weblog!?

Cheers ~ Arne

Wouldn't be a problem for me to have a new system if the old PPCWN would be still available.

Arne, we've all seen how much work you put into this thing, having the archived site even  available is really nice of you.  Hell if you arrange the link properly most people after a time would just be looking at the archives of the new site anyways..
