During the past weeks and months, Sony Mobile, formerly known as Sony Ericsson, was pretty active in communicating with its Xperia users and letting them know what the status of the upcoming Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades are. Following its earlier public Beta from late February, Sony's developers have continued to work hard to ensure Sony is on track to deliver its customers the best possible user experience on Xperia 2011 smartphones and today, Sony confirmed that the first Xperia 2011 models, namely the Xperia arc S, the Xperia neo V and the Xperia ray, are soon ready to receive its part of Android 4.0-love which will start to be rolled-out mid of April.
Following on, the Xperia arc, Xperia Play, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will receive their scoop starting from the end of May/early June.
However, Sony Mobile won't be able to offer a FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) upgrade but will make the Android 4.0 upgrades available via its own PC Companion and Bridge for Mac only, therefore users won't receive any update requests or notifications.
Cheers ~ Arne
