The good news came later today from Cerience, the maker of RepliGo which is already available for the Pocket PC and Palm platforms - currently they are developing a Windows Powered Smartphone version of RepliGo! :D

What does RepliGo do? It converts, optimizes, and transfers documents from your desktop computer to your mobile device, like Pocket PC or Smartphone including: Microsoft Office documents, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat PDF files and even Web pages

Virtually any other document, report, image, or file you can print such as Microsoft Project files, Visio drawings, WordPerfect documents, CAD drawings, maps, e-mails, and more.

RepliGo represents a breakthrough in document conversion technology and mobility. In a matter of seconds, virtually any document you have on your desktop PC can be transferred to your Smartphone while maintaining the document’s original look and feel. This includes Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDF files, Web pages and hundreds of other formats.

Once on your device, documents can easily be viewed, and shared with others using the supplied RepliGo Viewer.

On your Smartphone PPCW.Net might look like this:

While a PDF or Word file will look like this:

RepliGo for Smartphone let you zoom in and the flowed function is a kind of adopt to screen functionality!

The Beta version I got is already working great and the final version can be expected next week:

Please mention that this is in beta right now, and our target release date is Wednesday, April 16th.

Right now I see only two minor weaknesses I hope to see fixed for the final version:

  • Microsoft excluded the "sync documents" functionality in ActiveSync for Smartphones which means the user have to copy and paste the converted file by hand to the Samrtphone.

I hope Cerience will find a way to add a kind of self-developed synchronization plug-in to ActiveSync.

  • Right now, RepliGo isn't designed to work for Office 2003 (which is available as Beta only anyhow) but Cerience is already working on it.

RepliGo is THE perfect document viewer for the Smartphone and I can't await to get the final version in my hands for a review! I hardly don't know about any who tried it who doesn't like it so I'm pretty sure most of you will enjoy it also!

The downside of RepliGo is that the files needs to be converted on the Desktop first, so it isn't an attachment viewer for E-Mails - today.

If you own a Pocket PC test RepliGo today by downloading its 14 days trial version, available form

The Pocket PC version costs $39.95, while the Smartphone version will be available for $29.95.

Cheers ~ Arne

@casi: 1st - the preview above is for Smartphone so yes, a Smartphone version is available and already released (see my final review here: http://.../).

2nd - regarding the Office viewers: office isn't available so far today but there is an Office viewer available. It's Westtek ClearVue Suite for Smartphone 2002 (see my preview here: http://.../). Unfortunately Westtek hasn't released it so far for public downloads. :-(
