PREVIEW: HTC's Blue Angel with and without camera

As announced earlier by T-Mobile Germany, their MDA III Pocket PC version (also known as HTC Blue Angel, O2 Xda III/IIs and others) will be available later this year without a camera (but with GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth and W-LAN) to address business customers better.

Now I received some exclusive pictures of how the camera-less version will looks like. It's basically the same, just the backside of the device changed (it excludes the camera and the mirror) and the camera button on the side is assigned to a different function than the camera (makes sense):

On the left, you see the HTC Blue Angel w camera, as it is already on sale, on the right the "same" Blue Angel but w/o the camera.

If this version comes to other carriers as well, isn't announced so far (at least I haven't heard about it yet) but might be a good idea since more and more companies rejects camera enabled devices on their campus'.

Cheers ~ Arne

That's good news. I always thought that the camera component of the XDA II is the element I rather not have. I regularly have to leave my XDA II behind when visiting customers, i.e. power stations and nuclear facilities...

Now I just hope that they are smart enough to replace the camera by something really useful like GPS

T-Mobile Germany already sent one of these new devices to a costumer, who originally wanted a MDA III with cam. So he sent it back and got a new one with camera.
