Google is still tweaking its Google Plus social network and today, it has released an update of the Android app which now looks totally different to the previous versions. Texts are more or less gone but the new version is focusing on photos as eye-catchers. Furthermore, the kind of home start-menu is gone but the navigation is now reminding pretty much on Facebook's pull-down menu. Google itself describes the changes as following: "Visual refresh of the stream and improved navigation". In addition to the design change, v2.6 allows to initiate Hangouts from the main menu, features support for ringing hangout notification and post editing as well as messenger suggestions for people you may know.

Last but no least it's now possible to download photos from posts or messenger conversations.

As always, the update is now available from Google's Play Market as a free of charge download. And while we are talking about Google Plus, this is the perfect timing to follow the::unwired on Google Plus too.

Cheers ~ Arne

Personally, I'm not convinced by the design change! Looks nice with the focus on graphics and photos but the content is gone and requires an extra interaction. Nothing for fast consuming stuff...
