i-mate, the specialists in Microsoft Windows Mobile devices, proudly add the i-mate PDA2 to their range of market leading Pocket PC phones. The i-mate PDA2 (also known as HTC Alpine and better known as O2 Xda IIi) is a tri-band GSM/GPRS Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition which incorporates one of the fastest PDA processors available at 520 MHz and has 128 MB RAM. This device is tuned for heavy data processing and thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi, over-the-air synchronization couldn't be simpler.
The bright 3.5" QVGA Transflective touch screen of the i-mate PDA2, with screen view rotation function, is excellent for extra-wide viewing space. Users can access and edit Microsoft Office Word and Excel documents, manage emails on the move, and also view and navigate PDF files. The built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and Skype (VoIP calling) makes the i-mate PDA2 one of the most versatile Pocket PC Phones available today. In addition, the i-mate PDA2 is compatible with the accessories of its predecessor, the i-mate Pocket PC.

"The i-mate PDA2 is one of the most powerful and expandable mobile devices on the market. The efficiency gains to be had could mean the device pays for itself in no time" said Jim Morrison, Founder and Chief Executive of imate. "Over and above the advanced features of the device itself, the real difference is in the i-mate value added services we offer and global warranty play a key role in i-mate's strategy to deliver the ultimate mobile experience."

The elite web portal, www.clubimate.com, provides all i-mate device owners 24/7 technical advice, support and value added services such as free hosted Microsoft Exchange e-mail, exclusive i-mate interactive games and upgrade patches for download. "Club i-mate is our virtual community dedicated to helping customers get the most from their devices." Morrison added.
i-mate customers will soon enjoy the benefits of anti-virus protection and data-encrypted mobile security through our pioneering partnerships with world leading service providers. Also, all i-mate Pocket PC devices come preloaded with Skype (VoIP) which makes reduced calling costs a reality. All i-mate devices run on the Microsoft Windows Mobile Operating System.

It's not all just about business, with the built in Windows Media Player 10 users can relax and enjoy music or video anywhere; and the 1.3 mega-pixel digital still and video camera ensures you can capture any moment to share with friends and family.

"An outstanding feature of the i-mate PDA2 is its ability to be customized with innovative business applications to deliver remote access to a company's core systems in real-time," commented Mr Morrison. "Our devices are highly scalable and can be configured to match the needs of a wide variety of industry applications like field and sales force automation, and asset management."

The i-mate PDA2 will be available online and in stores from the beginning of June 2005.

Cheers ~ Arne
