RELEASE: Vodafone Germany released its first Phone Edition - the Qtek 2020

It seems that today is Vodafone day on PPCW.Net. :-) Vodafone Germany silently released its first Windows Mobile powered device as the "Vodafone Personal Assistant" which is a HTC Himalaya - branded by Qtek as 2020.

Seems to be a new strategy from Vodafone to release HTC devices under OEM brand names (like the previous released i-mate Smartphone2 from Vodafone Australia) beside Vodafone's own Live compatible devices?

Anyway - the Vodafone Personal Assistant (after the xda = eXtended Digital Assistant and the MDA = Mobile Digital Assistant now the VDA) is available from Vodafone Germany's online shop.

Without a contract/plan it costs 699,00 Euro and is available within Germany only. Nice move Vodafone, now I wonder if the CeBIT rumors - that you are going to launch the Motorola MPx later this becomes true also.

Cheers ~ Arne

The device is not deliverable! Vodafone has no device in stock and the Hotline do not know when they will arrive sad

The Device will be Vodafone Branded (like T-Mobile MDA2) but it is not an Vodafone!Live Device. As an result of this you can`t order MMS-Services over the Live-Portal (wsp:// or wsp://
