Do you remember the HP Messenger we was writing about a couple of days ago? GpsPasSion has received some real photos of the device which looks very promising and as expected, you can see on the photo that it will really comes with a 240 pixel square screen:

Over the past few days, information has been circulating about the first PDAPhone with a built-in GPS that joins the ranks of PDAs sporting a GPS such as the Mio168 or Garmin iQue's. Other items of note include the first ever "square" screen on a Pocket PC (240x240 pixels versus the usual 4/3 display in 320x240 or 640x480) likely to allow for the presence of a keyboard without unduly "stretching" the device.

See more information and larger photos at GpsPasSion. A very nice and promising device and the first all-in-one!
According to GpsPasSion, the official announcement could be planned for next week at the 3GSM Congress in Cannes.

Cheers ~ Arne

I know that most basic PPC apps can handle screens of different aspect ratios.  But I'm sure thatmost of the other applications do not support a square screen.  This will make it incompatible with some famous applications unless the software developers make a version to accommodate a square screen...  :?
