REVEALED: O2 Germany to introduce the HTC Magician as Xda mini during this month

O2 Germany's latest shop-flyer, which is valid from today until mid June revealed a big surprise: O2 will add the HTC Magician to their successful Xda-line and will carry it from mid June as "Xda mini". While we know the HTC Magician already from i-mate (as JAM), from T-Mobile (as MDA compact) and from Vodafone (as VPA compact), the German version will be different from the versions above (while it will use the (IMHO nicer) round JAM design, not the square-edged VPA compact design) as well as different from O2 Asia's Xda II mini version because O2 Germany is going to introduce the Xda mini in an exclusive anthracite:

Below on the left - the silver colored Xda II mini from O2 Asia, on the right the anthracite colored Xda mini from O2 Germany:

Please also note: While O2 Asia is calling their Magician "Xda II mini", O2 Germany is calling it "Xda mini" only - without "II". Feature-wise, the Xda mini is the same as the Xda II mini, i-mate JAM, T-Mobile MDA compact, etc. since it is the HTC Magician.

With a 24 months contract, the Xda mini costs between 179,99 Euro (O2 Active 100) and 199,99 Euro (O2 Genion); without a contract, the mini will be available for 499,99 Euro.

I really appreciate O2's decision to a) launch the HTC Magician (better late then never), b) to launch it in anthracite (have I told you that I can not see silver gadgets anymore) and in reality it looks as nice as it looks on O2's marketing photos:

Well done O2, now you've completed your Xda portfolio and I know of many O2 customers which was awaiting this news! Now I wonder how I get the anthracite cover on my JAM? ;-)

Cheers ~ Arne
