Even lower specified than today's unveiled Xperia miro are Sony Mobile's yet not announced Xperia tipo and Xperia tipo dual. Both running on Android 4.0, these entry-level Android phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU at 800 MHz. While the Xperia tipo comes in two flavors with either quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dualband UMTS/HSPA at 900/2100 MHz or triband UMTS/HSPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz, the Xperia tipo dual supports the same bands but is Sony Mobile's first dual-SIM Android phone. Also onboard are WiFi b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and aGPS. Both devices feature a 3.2 megapixel camera and a tiny 3.2" HVGA 320 x 480 pixel TFT touchscreen.

The Xperia tipo and tipo dual measure 103 x 57 x 13 mm and weight 99.4 gram. They come with 512 MB of RAM and 2.9 GB (up to 2.5 GB user-accessible) flash memory which can be expanded with microSD memory cards.
The Xperia tipo will be available in black, white, red and blue while the Xperia tipo dual will be available in black and silver.
Both smartphones are expected to launch globally in Q3-2012. Prices weren't announced today.
