Are you a globetrotter or do you have a lot of friends or contacts in other countries? Than MadBeetle's WorldTime 2 is your utility to improve your knowledge about foreign locations.

WorldTime 2 displays the current world time with daylight saving adjustments in 400 cities worldwide and includes:

  • Sunrise/Sunset
  • GMT offset
  • Daylight savings
  • Analogue clock
  • The moon phase
  • Airport code
  • Dial Code
  • Longitude & Latitude

A scrollable world globe, displays the selected cities location and day/night regions of the world in real time:

Selecting a new city requires 3 clicks only. First select the country, than the city and you get the current time displayed on your phone as well as all useful information:

In addition you can also calculate the distance between two cities and get the result in kilometers and miles:

The main clock/screen uses skins defined in an xml file which allows full customization. However, MadBeetle already added three default skins:

Final Conclusion

WorldTime 2 really adds useful fun to your Smartphone. I have a lot of contacts outside Europe (like many friends over in the US and Canada) and mostly never know their time/the time difference between them and me. So this is a pretty handy tool for me. Also the additional information like sunrise/sunset, airport codes, etc are super useful for me and my traveling because I'm mostly booking/checking my flights via the Internet/WAP and using the airport codes speed up the procedure.

Unfortunately WorldTime 2 hasn't a concurrent overview of several cities or a time calculator like CodeCity (which isn't released so far for the Smartphone, see the Beta Preview here) but since all data are already available we can hope for that feature in a future version. If WorldTime 2 would include this - it would be near perfect for me (oh yes, not to forget the support of Swatch's Internet Time ;-))

World Time 2 is available from for US$ 14.95; a trial version is also available from there.

Cheers ~ Arne
