Not that this is anything spectacular, basically most of us expected it anyway but Dopod International Corp, a share of HTC selling HTC devices under its own brand in Far- and South East Asia, recently announced its support of Windows Mobile 6 as a software platform in its new products. Dopod International plans to launch its first device running on Windows Mobile 6 in April 2007. All new products launched after that will also be equipped to run on this new mobile software platform.
This announcement is in line with Microsoft's recent launch of Windows Mobile 6, the newest version of its mobile software platform which features new messaging tools, tighter security and improved productivity.

"Dopod International's devices offer the ultimate in connectivity by allowing consumers to experience instant access to information anytime, anywhere," said Jack Tong, CEO of Dopod International Corp. "With our range of Windows Mobile PDA phones and smartphones, consumers will be spoilt for choice in deciding which one of our devices best suit their needs and lifestyle. We're excited to work with Microsoft to offer Windows Mobile 6 on our upcoming products. This will further enrich the mobile experience of consumers with our easy-to-use, innovative and powerful devices, which will allow more consumers to enjoy mobility while having the power of Windows Mobile to help them stay connected to people and information wherever they go."

Over the course of the year, Dopod International will continue to launch more products to cater to the high demands of consumers looking for devices to enhance their mobile lifestyle.

Cheers ~ Arne
