Do you remember our earlier posting about LG's expected Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone?
Well, we told you, that - according to information we've received - this smartphone might looks similar to LG's Prada phone and the same sources told us now, that this Windows Mobile smartphone (which still has no official name) looks quite similar to LG's recently announced KU900. Just as a reminder, according to our sources, this device will sport Windows Mobile 6, is expected to feature GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS while HSPDA is still unconfirmed.

If our rendering above is correct, we can also expect a WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) screen which would makes perfectly sense. Furthermore we have heard now, that the Windows Mobile version "of the KU990" will definitely not sports a 5 megapixel camera.
Anyway, a recent article from BusinessWeek seems to confirm the rumor, that LG is heavily working on a Windows Mobile smartphone.
"Several [manufacturers] have been pushing Broadcom and Microsoft to
build this development center," says John Starkweather, general manager of
mobile communications at Microsoft. He adds that, later this year, a major
manufacturer will release a Windows Mobile device based on a Broadcom
baseband chip. Neither company would identify the handset maker or say how
much they're spending on the design center. But Starkweather says Korea's LG
Electronics asked Broadcom and Microsoft to work together and that Microsoft
is spending as much on the center with Broadcom as it has on comparable
efforts with TI and Qualcomm.
Again, all the information are still completely unconfirmed but the sources seems to be quite trustworthy.
Cheers ~ Arne
