So far, HTC was well known for its Microsoft Windows Mobile and Google Android smartphones but Taiwanese DigiTimes received information that HTC plans to launch launch a 3G handset which is based on Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP).
The Brew handset is expected to come with a touchsreeen, HTC's TouchFlo 3D UI (so far used for Windows Mobile only) and HTC Sense UI (introduced just recently on the HTC Hero, HTC's 3rd Android smartphone). Brew MP, which was announced back in 2007, uses Adobe Mobile Client (AMC), a version of the Flash Player engineered specifically to provide performance, add extensibility and use a small memory footprint.

ActionScript can call extensions into Brew MP that expose device capabilities such as GPS, Bluetooth, databases and networking. Combining Flash with C in Brew MP, you can embed Flash content into applications that reach the core functionality of the device.
According to DigTimes' sources, the release is expected for September/October 2009 and the (first) device will be available as an entry-level model.

Cheers ~ Arne
