While Microsoft has just sent the press conference invitation without going into details, Taiwanese DigiTimes claims that Microsoft is expected to announce a date for the commercial availability of Windows Mobile 7 at next month's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. At least that's what DigiTimes heard from sources familiar with Microsoft's roadmap (most likely Taiwanese Windows Mobile ODMs). However, DigiTimes goes even further and said that "based on the roadmap, Windows Mobile 7 will be available to Microsoft's handheld hardware partners in September 2010, allowing them to roll-out Windows phones in the fourth quarter 2010 or early first quarter 2011".
However, according to DigiTimes and its sources, only English and common European languages will be available at launch, with the availability of the Asian localizations slated for 2011. It's expected (and rumored) that Windows Mobile 7 will come with an improved interface to deliver a better browsing and multimedia experience, as well as Zune, Xbox Live and Silverlight support.
