RUMOR: Microsoft Windows Phone 8 to finally support Full HD 1080p anytime soon?

There were rumors on the street that Nokia might release a full HD Windows Phone pretty soon, with it's expected announcement of the so called Lumia 1020 aka Lumia EOS at this month's Zoom event in NYC. However, for sure also Microsoft has to support such a screen resolution but the latest Windows Phone 8 Visual Studio 2013 emulator bits seem to confirm that Microsoft is indeed close to finally upgrade the Windows Phone screen resolution to full HD support. As found by Justin Angel, the latest Visual Studio 2013 Beta, which was announced during last week's Build conference is San Francisco, contains full HD 1080p emulator files, supporting a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixel.

Sure, this is not a final proof at all but at least a good indicator. Why else should Microsoft put 1080p HD emulator files into Visual Studio? At the moment, Microsoft only supports WVGA (480x800), 720p (720x1280) and WXGA (768x1280) and with Android which continues to set new benchmarks, it's definitely time for Microsoft to catch up!

Cheers ~ Arne
