Not that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 is anything official yet, but according to MobileCrunch, Sony Ericsson's first Android smartphone will not make it to the market before January 2010. While this definitely doesn't makes any sense (it's too late for holiday season and too early for the Mobile World Congress in February), that's the info MobileCrunch got from some unnamed sources. According to earlier leaked specs, the Xperia X3 (code-named Rachael)is expected to run on Android 1.6 (Donut) and features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi b/g and aGPS.

The 4" capacitive touchscreen is expected to feature WVGA (800 x 480) and it's said that the Xperia X3 comes with a massive 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, image stabilization, smile shutter and face detection.

Cheers ~ Arne

i feel sorry for SE ,they produce good phone but they alway F*** it up  by releasing it too late, where all the company has release same  or better futured phones.
example X1,
lets pray they will release X2 before Christmas holidays and the X3 in the right time.

What do you mean it makes no sense? Google is delayed with the new version of Android hence why the new phome from SE may not appear until Jan 2010. Don't blame SE, blame Google

I didn't blame Sony Ericsson, I said the "rumored timing" (January) doesn't makes sense because if it would really be released in January, it would makes more sense to wait until February to launch it on the Mobile World Congress with immediate availability after. Again, I never said it's SE's fault, I just said the timing is quite unusual and therefore I have my doubts if the rumor is a good one.

But anyway, I don't know what you mean with "Google delayed the new version of Android". Donut is already there and it's good enough to run a WVGA Android smartphone. Sure, Eclair and Flan would be even better but if the hardware is ready, there's no reason why not offering an upgrade to Eclaire later-on.
