Together with the launch of Android 4.1/Jelly Bean, Google also introduced Google Now, which knows what you are looking for, before you are searching it. Available through search, Google Now brings users the right information at just the right time. It tells today's weather before starting the day, know how much traffic to expect before leaving for work or returning home, when the next train will arrive as it knows it's currently on the platform or the favorite team's score while they're playing. And the best part, according to Google? All of this happens automatically; which also could be the worst part but anyway, let us see the bright side!
Google Now brings what today's weather will be like before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, the next train as you're standing on the platform and even your favorite team's score while they're playing. Google Now is getting started with 10 different cards, with more to come.
Traffic shows conditions and alternate routes before leavening for work. Google Now also puts traffic to the next likely destination. Public transit shows which buses or trains are nest if near a bus stop or a subway station. Next appointment lets Google Now checking the traffic and even gives a notification for when it's time to leave.
Google Now keeps users up to date on flight delays and traffic conditions to the airport for flights recently searched for. Google Now is also able to keep users updated on their favorite sports teams in real time, with live scores and upcoming games. When on the go, Google Now will suggest nearby bars, restaurants, and places of interest which allows to quickly jump to Google Maps to get more info, reviews, or even make a reservation. When starting the day, Google Now shows weather for the current location and work.
Google Now even helps translating by finding just the right word when away from home. Not so necessary in Europe but nevertheless useful is the currency card Google Now shows to quickly check the local conversion rate when traveling. And while travelling, it might be hand to know the time at home, for instance if in a different time zone.
Google Now is part of Android 4.1 and the info appear in the notification curtain, throughout the day at the moment they are needed, or as cards after unlocking the device or by opening the search.
