If you are a heavy traveler and often use Lufthansa as you carrier, you shouldn't miss the latest Timetable for Pocket PC update, Lufthansa recently has published.
Lufthansa Timetable for Pocket PCs (called Lufthansa Pocketfly) is an offline application for your Pocket PC which includes the full Lufthansa flight plan, so you are always well informed when and if there is a flight to your next destination. Also you can easily find an available return flight and - best of all - your selected flight details are automatically transferred into the Pocket PC calendar, if you wish.
Last but not least, "Lufthansa Pocketfly" automatically updates itself every month so you are always up to date.
Lufthansa Pocketfly is an old application already (while it was first time published by the Star Alliance back in 2002) and I'm still using it frequently. Unfortunately, Lufthansa still excludes a booking option, at least for registered status customers. Since Lufthansa has all my details anyway, this would be a handy add-on if I could easily book a flight, right from the application. Right now, I have to switch back to the PC, go to Lufthansa's website and have to book the flight, I've searched for on my mobile device before, there - even if my Pocket PC is a connected device too.
Unfortunately, it seems that Pocketfly isn't supporting Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 5.0 yet since I don't get it working on any of my WM 5.0 devices. I hope they will adopt it soon. Also, Pocketfly isn't supporting Windows Mobile Smartphones yet (but Palm PDAs) and since the phone penetration is much higher compared to a PDA penetration, it would makes sense if Lufthansa would also port it to the Windows Mobile Smartphone platform.
BTW: The Star Alliance Pocketfly is also still available from the Star Alliance web site.
Cheers ~ Arne
