A new version of the award-winning Skweezer service makes browsing the Web with a wireless handset easier than ever. Greenlight Wireless Corporation last week announced the release of a free version of its popular Skweezer portal, which optimizes Web pages, searches, and e-mail for use on PDA's and cell phones.

Mobile Internet users can access the free version of Skweezer by visiting from any wireless data-enabled handset. Skweezer is essentially a Web portal, such as Google or Yahoo!, that enables visitors to browse the Internet with Skweezer's optimization technology. This technology compresses and reformats Web content being downloaded to the user's device, so that it loads faster, looks better, and is easier to navigate. Since the Skweezer portal dramatically reduces a file's size before it's sent to the device, users who pay wireless data charges on a "per-kilobit" basis save money when they browse with Skweezer.

Skweezer users can personalize their service by creating a free Skweezer account, which provides the ability to save and import browsing favorites, access Plaxo contacts, and set up a customizable Skweezer Home Page. Skweezer Mail, Greenlight Wireless' popular mobile E-Mail solution, is also included with a free personalized account. Skweezer Mail allows users to access an unlimited number of POP3 mail accounts and utilizes Skweezer's optimization technology, so messages have reduced file sizes and are faster to send and receive.

Skweezer Pro, a new "ad-free" service, includes unlimited e-mail customer support and is available for $14.99USD annually. All current Skweezer subscribers will automatically be upgraded to the new Skweezer Pro service. For more information about Skweezer and Skweezer Pro, please visit the Greenlight Wireless Web site at

Skweezer is worth to test and if you are a MultiIE user, don't forget that a direct Squeezer support is already included! :-)

I've played with it a little but during the past days and it's a great addition to Microsoft's new PIE layout support, especially if you access regular (non-PDA optimized website) to reduce the amount of data, transferred through your GPRS connections.

Cheers ~ Arne
