Greenlight Wireless this weel announced that its Skweezer service, which optimizes Web content for cell phones and PDA's, now provides a customizable search feature that allows users to choose between several popular search engines.

Skweezer customers can now search the Web from a mobile device using search engines designed for the desktop environment, such as Google, Y! Search, MSN, Looksmart, and Ask Jeeves. Skweezer reformats and optimizes search result pages, so they load faster and can be viewed more easily on a small display. Switching between search engines can be done using a convenient drop-down menu or, if the user has signed up for a free personalized account, a default search engine can be set as a preference.

Skweezer is a free Web portal/browsing service that optimizes Web pages, searches, and E-Mail for use on PDA's and cell phones. Mobile Internet users access Skweezer by visiting, then use the portal as a "wireless gateway" to browse and search the Web. Skweezer compresses and reformats content being downloaded, so that it loads faster, looks better, and is easier to navigate. Skweezer includes an web-based E-Mail client, RSS reader, address book, site directory and other useful features designed specifically for the mobile environment. Skweezer is also completely platform independent and can be accessed from Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Palm, Windows Mobile Smartphone, XHTML-based cell phone and WebTV devices.
