Eleksen announced that a new fabric keyboard using the Elektex fabric sensor and a mini-joystick would be available for the HTC made Smartphones. The keyboard, designed for use with Orange’s SPV will be available in France, Denmark, Switzerland and the UK.

A notable feature found in Eleksen’s fabric keyboards is the ability to use it as a virtual joystick. By placing a fist on the “H” key, users can emulate the use of a joystick to play action games. Since it is a fbric keyboard, it is essential that the keyboard is used on a stable flat surface.

Eleksen also showed a mini-joystick for the smartphone. It is essentially a thumb joystick, with the fire button which can be accessed by one of the fingers. This joystick is set to add a new dimension to games on color smartphones and PDAs.

As of this posting, no prices were disclosed yet.

Eleksen you may be the saviour of the smartphone - I work for Orange and can i get a car kit for this thing- NO. I have asked repeatedly for 4 months when is it coming out - “we dont know” say our internal departments.

A lot of people in Orange want them but wont bother because of lack of car kits.
