Communications recently released an update of their ROM for users of the SMART
Amazing Phone. This includes the updates they made for version 1.6 and updates
which have been found in the version 1.5 of the Qtek and i-Mate ROMs.
In addition to all these, SMART's new ROM also includes the update for MSN
Messenger. The file is an 11MB dowload
and is intended for SMART Amazing Phone users only. If you are not using SMART
as our network, it is advised that you do not install this ROM. This ROM will
lock your phone to the SMART network.

20 to 30% Extended battery life
Action Engine Software
Amazing Explorer - (Smart Online, Establishment Finder, SSS Online)
Does anyone know where I can fidn a fix for MEssenger on an i-mate (xda2). Gprs works, Messenger claims it "cannot run on this platform" or sth similar, while it was pre-installed

That would be the Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC upgrade.

Am I right in thinking that the only ROM so far that is able to fix the msn messenger is from Smart?

@Chris: Yes, you are right! However - don't install it if you are not a Smart customer with a Smart Amazing Phone!

Hi I need help in configuring my xda II with smart gprs and mms. On my old xda, smart and globe were included in the menu for auto configuration, however the xda II came with hong kong and singapore networks only. I wrote xda and also smart but got no reply. thanks in advance.

how can i use the windows media?
Posted by Arne Hess on 29.03.04 - 12:45:05
@raul coralde: It is recommended that you get a high capacity MMC or SD card for this. Store your MP3s or WMA files in it and play them with Windows Media Player on your Smartphone.
Transferrign media is simple. If you use Windows Media Player on the desktop PC... preferrably v8 or v9, you can easily use Copy to CD or Device and navigate to your Smartphone and MMC/SD card and simply select the media you want transferred to it.

i can't seem to use this phone, is it really difficult to use? can you recomend me how much would this cost if i sell it?
Posted by Arne Hess on 19.04.04 - 07:35:17
@mak: The phone is fairly simple to use. You will have to unlearn systems used in other phones though.
This phone works best when the contacts list from Outlook on your PC is synchronized with it. All you will ahve to do then is to key in the person's name and you can select them from a list.
Sending SMS is fairly simple too... going to Inbox and creating a new message, and getting the info from Pocket Outlook makes it quick and easy.
Mabuhay! ~ Carlo
