SOFTWARE UPDATE: Orange is ready to release its SPV Software update on February 24

On 3GSM Congress in Cannes last week, I got confirmed by Orange UK that the new Software for the SPV should be available from tomorrow, the 24th.
As far as Orange told me it's more or less identically with the already published Denmark update but should not include Danish but all improvements the Danish update already includes. It's not known if the Danish update was uploaded "accidentally" or it it was a smart move by Orange to upload a kind of preview.

However, since both updates are more or less the same, you can not expect new features like a SMS character counter but a lot of speed improvements as well as a longer battery standby time. I used my HTC Canary during the last week for voice, SMS, IM and web browsing and the battery runtime is far more better than it was with the original SPV bits.

Cheers ~ Arne
