The HTC Magician (better known as i-mate JAM, O2 Xda II mini, Qtek S100 or T-Mobile MDA compact) is a great device I enjoy to use, however it has two flaws: no inbuilt Wi-Fi and limited memory capacity with 64 MB. While you can add a SanDsik Wi-Fi card to enable Wi-Fi, the lack of memory stays.
Now Pocket PC memory specialist PocketPCTechs announced the release of a 64 MB to 128 MB upgrade for the iHTC Magician:

This unit uses low voltage hi-speed BGA memory, so stacking is not available and 128 MB will be the maximum capacity. During the upgrade process we remove the existing 64MB and install 128 MB. This memory upgrade does NOT require our proprietary driver and is fully recognized by the OS (121.39 MB Available). The SRP of the upgrade is $199 including 2nd day return shipping (USA only).

As always, this upgrade is not supported by the manufacturer and will void the warranty On the unit. We do offer a 90 day warranty on the upgrade and motherboard Of the unit.

European customers will be able to order and ship through our Authorized Upgrade Center, Expansys.com. The mainboards will be upgraded by us.
We currently have several shipments per week between Expansys and PocketPCTechs.com. This will save the customer international customs & shipping fees, and shipping time.

PocketPCThechs.com is well known for their memory upgrades and even if I never have used their service, I've heard good comments from their customers only. Maybe time to send my i-mate JAM to them?

Cheers ~ Arne
