Okay, the Samsung SGH-i320 Windows Mobile Smartphone BlackBerry "killer" appeared first at last month's 3GSM Congress in Barcelona and was shown there with
two working samples the first day. However, the second day, it disappeared from the Samsung stand and where the i320 was
showed the day before, Samsung placed two other Windows Mobile devices.
Everybody who was asked what happened with the i320 hadn't had anything to say, even if it was
officially announced through Samsung's press release. All I got was that I should wait for the CeBIT.
Okay, I tried hard to be patient and awaited the CeBIT but on the first day, as well as on the second day (than I gave) up, there was no information available on the Samsung stand. When I asked for a working device, I was sent to the "office" devices, where it weren't. Others sent me to the SGH-i310 (8 GB HDD Windows Mobile Smartphone) and one employee told me, the day before the CeBIT he has seen, at least a plate with the device name but he had no information why it is not presented at CeBIT not if it will be presented later during the CeBIT (which not happened at all). Also no spokesman was available for a comment which starts to make me wonder.
Why was it announced in Barcelona, was presented there one day only and never appeared in Hannover? What's wrong with the device, will we ever see it (on another show) and even more important: will we ever see it released or will it face the same destiny like the Motorola MPx and MPx100?
I don't want to be too pessimistic yet nor I want to spread any rumors I don't have have any confirmations for but I don't get it at all.
Cheers ~ Arne
