UNAVAILABLE: Motorola MPx220 ROM-update disappeares "temporarily" only?

I just was on the Motorola MPx220 ROM update page I have written about before and for my surprise, the MPx220 ROM update is "temporary unavailable"?

Hmmm, I have no idea what went wrong but maybe the ROM version (designed for Cingular customers only) wasn't that good as expected?

Nevertheless, I really hope, Motorola will bring it back ASAP and make it available for other carriers also. I don't like the way Motorola distributes their ROM updates today - by sending your phone to the service to get it flashed. It doesn't makes sense anymore, not half as much as it made sense in the 90s when not that many had PCs to flash the phones themselves.

HTC and all the carriers and distributors showed successful how to distribute ROM updates: through web downloads!

Cheers ~ Arne

Arne, I am wondering if Motorola will offer an update that will allow voice dial functionality via Bluetooth handsfree devices? Also they need to correct the Activesyc BT feature. I can't seem to be able to disconnect unless I turn BT off on the phone. It is very cumbersome.

[1] The Audiovox 5600 is the same for syncing with BT... You must turn off the radio.

[2] @Draden and Scott: Ruttensoft has a tool to disconnect BT without disabling BT. Just have a look at

Hey Arne?  Why was my post deleted?  Because I reported this news first over at Modaco?

I would have at least thought you'd leave the info I got from Motorola why it was taken down.

[5] Mc, I'm really sorry but I don't know what you mean? Before your "latest" post I got exactly 4 other comments and I haven't deleted any comments from this article so far. :? I also checked my Inbox (I get a copy of every comment by E-Mail) and haven't received anything there...
Are you sure you have pressed the submit-button?

If you have information from Motorola, I would be more then happy to get it here (as well), doesn't matter where you posted first...

[6] Hi McHale,
Really curious as to why they pulled the update...
