At a press briefing held in Singapore today, O2 previewed the UMTS follower of the Xda Atom which will be called "Xda Atom Life". Nevertheless, it still looks pretty much like the original Xda Atom. According to O2's country manager Low Han Thong, the Atom Life will come with support for UMTS and HSDPA and will feature a large onboard memory. CNET Asia, which was at the press briefing, had a look at the showcased prototype and found out it came with 1 GB storage memory which can be extended, according to CNET Asia, through miniSD memory cards. Further features are a QVGA display, a 2-megapixel camera on the back and a video telephony camera on the front:

The Xda Atom Life will be released in black and white and can be expected in the Asian region within the next two month. However, the white version is expected to be launched at a later date.
No further information were given yet.

Cheers ~ Arne
