the new Palm Treo Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, which will replace the
Palm Treo 750 later this year, and codenamed "Drucker", was mentioned in
Vodafone UK's earlier leaked roadmap, the roadmap didn't had a photo of the
device but a placeholder only. Nevertheless, during
Bill Gats' CES keynote, a
Palm Treo Windows Mobile smartphone was
briefly shown on a slide which is - most
likely - the Palm Drucker, also expected to be released as Palm
Treo 800 or
Treo 850. The Treo
shown at the presentation isn't anything of today's available or known
smartphones and it clearly sports Windows Mobile Professional and the Start and
OK button which is another indication that this must be the Drucker or at least
a touchscreen devices.
In addition, it looks quite similar to a Treo design which
leaked earlier last year:
According to Vodafone's UK roadmap, the Palm Drucker will be the first Palm
smartphone, featuring WiFi - Palm-users awaited forever - as well as GPS.
Other features stays quite similar to the Palm Treo 750, including quadband
GSM/GPRS/EDGE, triband UMTS/HSDPA but featuring Windows Mobile 6.1, Microsoft's
latest (and still to be announced) update of Windows Mobile.
